Proyecto Amigo – Casa Marcelino offers NATs elementary school (1st – 9th grade), occupation training, weekend school, after school and education for adults. Occupation Training takes place in the school bakery, carpentry, weaving workshop or on the center's land (organic farming). The center also has canteen, library and a human rights office.

Proyecto Amigo – Casa Marcelino wants to help working children and adolescents (NATs)

and all minors who suffer under poor and dangerous conditions.

The average family consists of five members and the main income is from agriculture. The family income is often too low to feed the family, and as a consequence, many children begin to work from an early age, between 6 and 14 years old.
